For Those Weeks When You Just Can’t Get It Up For Your Business A few weeks ago I drained an entire bottle of vodka in a single week and felt like I was drowning in a sea of tasks that would never get done. I wrote and deleted three-quarters of a sad, complain-y newsletter that would’ve earned me an avalanche of unsubscribes. (Inspired by the potential unsubscribes, I wrote this feisty email instead.) I left my desk on Friday afternoon with so many things on my to-do list that it made my head spin even more than the vodka. 👉 An entire module of The School of Consent-Based Business Too much, too much, too much! But come Monday morning, I heard the voice of God reminding me how lucky I am to be doing this work. Not only did I hear it, I felt it deep in my bones. Which gave me all the energy I needed. I created the module in a single, nitro-brew fuelled day. I wrote an entire sales page in two hours and handed it off to Amber Secrest for design. I completed the secret internal promo, which I will continue to mention because I love being a tease. I caught up on tasks and asked a zillion people for their forgiveness and patience. I asked my team to please deal with all the blaring red overdue tasks in ClickUp. You might feel bad about yourself because you only did three things last week. Please don’t. This is about swimming in the current when the pull is strong, and relaxing with a vodka on the rocks when it’s not — especially as experienced business owners (newbies need to push through a bit harder because everything feels hard in the beginning). I’m learning to trust myself more there. That when my body says, “Not today!,” I can actually listen (sometimes), because tomorrow it is just as likely to say, “Let’s fucking go, Tarzan!” I don’t know what kind of week you’re having but I suspect some people might benefit from me normalizing the fact that everyone experiences both. Wishing you a LFG kind of week, ~ Tarzan
