Emails, but better.

The worst email ever?

Are you the “missing member” in Power?

Hey you! Yes YOU, Reader. 🫵

This is looking like the best mastermind group I’ve ever led, and we saved you a seat in the car. There’s only one spot left. Are you the one we’re looking for to complete the circle? You might be our missing member if…

👉🏾 You want a business that’s less dependent on you being everywhere all the time (us too!)

👉🏽 Some days you dream of burning it all down and writing erotica full-time on WattPad (or something weirder—we have dreams like that, too!)

👉🏼You do big transformational work with clients but don’t have a commensurate level of support yourself

👉🏻 You’re on the cusp of something, and you don’t want to go it alone

If any of that sounds familiar, you know what to do. (Hint: it’s either a) apply here or b) hit “reply” and talk to me.)

Power begins September 10, 2025

For those days when you just can’t get your newsletter to work

In 5 minutes I’m going upstairs where my friend and former client Carly Banks is working from the coffee table in my dining room.* I haven’t seen her since last summer—we have a mountain of topics to get through in the next 14 hours.

Zero time to waste.

Maybe that’s why I’ve had soooo many false starts. Rushing to get to the pleasure part of the day!

I already wrote you three emails that refused to gel. Eight hundred and forty nine words you’ll never see, ninety minutes I could’ve been gossiping about girlbossery with Carly and lollygagging on the dock.

All this to say:

Some days writing emails is easy, and other days it’s like unclogging a drain full of hair.

You might be surprised to know that I have those days, too. Not every newsletter can be a zinger. If that’s what you were hoping for when you opened this one, try one of these I wrote recently—they’re Certified Fresh:

💌 Stop Trying To “Fix” Your Resistance To Joining New Groups
If you’ve walked into a room, real or virtual, and felt intense resistance or lack of belonging, let me tell you what that means. (This email got zero replies! I don’t get why, it was so good! Maybe because I mentioned Palestine?)

💌 For All The Business Owners Who Feel Shame
BY FAR the favourite email of last month—it’s about why we punish ourselves for the things we didn’t do, and a suggestion for something to do instead. It also shares an unexpected side hustle I started.

💌 Why You Shouldn’t Listen To Your Customers About What To Make Next
Sometimes surveys are overrated. This email tells a story from my “copywriter for Amy Porterfield” days, and an unexpected thing that happened when we created what subscribers asked for.

💌 “Failing Forward” Is Bad Business Advice—Here’s What To Do Instead
This email is about what happens when you sit with the grief of your failures instead of immediately trying to turn them into blessings in disguise (🤮).

💌 When Your “Right Next Move” Has Nothing To Do With Business
Betchu’d never have guessed this was my next move in business—and neither did I. This email is about an unexpected side hustle I’m loving.

That’s it!

I’m doing some of my best work right now, IMHO. But today is not it! I can almost hear the voice of writing coach Suzy Vadori going, “Tarzan, you need to cool it with all the exclamation points.”

But I can also hear Carly bumping around upstairs and my 5 minutes are up. (Actually it’s been 30 but who’s counting? 🤷)

Hope you’re doing something fun today too.

Off to swim in the canal 👙🚣

*I could tell you many stories of the wonderful people I met through business who ended up in my living room. Carly is the second one to visit me this summer—a gift that is truly sweeter than any paycheque.

(If you’re reading this, “Hi, Carole Chabries!”)

(Also, Jeremy de Tolly, come baaaack, I miss you.)

😵‍💫 Ever cried after spending $48 on a Lyft? Financial therapist Lindsay Bryan-Podvin gets it. Her weekly Mind Money Balance newsletter tackles money and mental health through storytelling and psychological insights without shame-y rigid rules. Turns out you actually can save like a Virgo AND splurge like a travel hacker.

🗞️ Tomorrow I’m cohosting What’s In Tarzan Kay’s Kit to show you behind the scenes of my Kit account i.e. the actual tools and strategies I use to make email the profit center of my business. Come see how I make almost all my money (truly).

Talking Reinvention with Stacey-Brass Russell

A conversation about rebuilding from the heart, and redefining leadership in an online business landscape that often prioritizes performance over truth.

In this episode, Stacey and I dive into:

  • What happens when you start to outgrow your niche, your audience, or your identity
  • A simple framework for consent-based marketing that you can apply to any promotion
  • The difference between scaling and deepening—and how to know what season you're in
  • The connection between grief, clarity, and spiritual leadership
  • Trust, self-trust, and the human element in coaching and communication

Plus, this interview explores the shift from old models of leadership—the “guru on the pedestal” approach—to community-based, co-creative models of service that are inclusive, sustainable, and human.
